It started with a voyage.
While traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa, we happened to stop at a place called Watamu. Meaning “sweet people,” in Swahili, it’s surrounded by white sand beaches, a coral reef and three bays named Watamu Bay, Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay.
In this oceanic haven, the locals typically wear kikoys. And for us, this traditional, 100% natural item of clothing, with its vibrant colors and cheerful tassles, came to represent the beauty of the East African spirit.
We came home with a mission: to share the quality and spirit of this authentic product. We want the kikoys to enrich everyone’s idyllic beach experiences and style, regardless of where they are.
Each Turtle Bay kikoy is unique. The 75 tassels they feature are handmade.
Lined with terry-towelling, the kikoy can be worn as a pareo, or become a new kind of beach towels. Travel as you like : light and convenient it will follow you anywhere.
