The exhibition presents new pieces of the creator (haute couture and ready-to-wear) from 1970 to 2013. They are accompanied by sketches, archives, stage costumes, film clips, shows, concerts, music videos, dance performances and television.

Juggling between extravagance and punk cancan, sadomasochism in red and black and multicolored plumages, Madonna and Pedro Almodóvar, Yvette Horner or Kate Moss, military bride dresses and fencing, Jean Paul Gaultier has always liked to copy the cultural references with humor and gluttony.

But this state of free and welcoming spirit that makes the personality, rich and captivating, the fashion designer is reflected throughout the exhibition, served by an imaginative set design which makes it amazingly alive.
