Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski named Artistic Director of Hermès
Two weeks ago to the day, Hermès announced the leaving of Christophe Lemaire. A few days later, the reserved and talented Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski was named as new Artistic Director. Presentation of this 36 years old designer.
July 21, Hermès announced the leaving of Christophe Lemaire. After a 4 years collaboration, the designer now wishes to dedicate himself to his own label.
Some days later, July 24, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski working for The Row is named as artistic director of Hermès women's wear.
Little known to the general public, this 36 years old designer already has a great path. In 2003, she is graduated from Antwerp's Royal Academy and the next year from IFM (Institut Français de la Mode).
Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski starts her career at Delvaux, the oldest house of luxury leather goods created in 1829 in Brussels.
In 2005, she integrates Maison Martin Margiela and in 2008 joins Phoebe Philo at Céline.
In 2011, she becomes director of studio at The Row in New-York. Fashion label created by the twins, Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen.
In 2012, her work is rewarded as she enables the Maison The Row to win a CFDA Award for its fashion.
Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski will take over on October 1st, after the last show of Christophe Lemaire. Her first Hermès collection will be presented in March 2015 during the Autumn-Winter 15/16 Paris Fashion Week.
First Woman named at the head of Hermès women's wear, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski said : " I am delighted to be joining Hermès, a Maison I so admire and whose values I share wholeheartedly."
